My story isn't about perfection...

It's about resilience, about finding light in the darkest

of places. It's about the power of healing, not just the body, but the soul. I've learned that true strength

comes from vulnerability, and that even in our brokenness, we can bloom.

At 39, I embraced motherhood, welcoming twin daughters—a dream I had long cherished. Simultaneously, I was thriving in my role as Executive Director of the Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics (SWINA), while also managing a side business encompassing massage therapy, energy work, hypnotherapy, lifestyle coaching, and aesthetics. My work in the natural aesthetics and wellness industry provided a profound sense of purpose—I was helping people feel their best, inside and out. Yet, behind the scenes, my body was waging a battle I didn't yet understand.

By 44, I was completely depleted. What began as persistent fatigue escalated into something far more serious. Brain fog clouded my thinking, exhaustion confined me to bed, and there were days I couldn't even drive my daughters to school. A medical leave of absence offered no relief; in fact, my condition worsened. My doctor diagnosed me with extreme adrenal fatigue and warned that I was on the verge of Addison’s Disease. If I didn’t change course, my adrenal glands could fail, necessitating lifelong cortisol medication.

Leaving my career wasn't just a professional loss—it felt like a personal failure. How could someone so devoted to wellness end up here? I carried guilt, shame, and uncertainty. If I couldn't heal myself, how could I guide others? I ceased seeing clients, withdrew, and felt utterly lost.

But the universe always has a plan, even when we can't see it.

A turning point came in 2016 when I was introduced to a modality called Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT). Initially, I resisted. Having already studied and received numerous healing modalities, I questioned what this could possibly add. However, that first session shifted something deep within me. My family noticed an immediate change. I felt lighter, clearer, and for the first time in a long while—hopeful.

Healing didn't happen overnight. It was a gradual, powerful process. I continued with SRT sessions but soon realized I couldn't afford to keep going without returning to full-time work. So, I did something unexpected: I trained in SRT—not to return to practice, but to support my own healing and that of my family. I never planned to offer it professionally. But as I began to feel better, people noticed. They asked what I was doing differently. They saw me not just surviving—but glowing. I started offering sessions quietly. One client became five, and before I knew it, I was booked two weeks out—all by word of mouth.

Then, in 2020, the world shifted. COVID-19 upended everything, including the stability of my daughters' education. Mid-year, they had to switch schools. One of my twins developed severe separation anxiety; the other struggled to focus. Desperate to help them, I turned to what I knew: natural remedies. I created an aromatherapy spray to soothe anxiety, later naming it BE CALM. The second blend was crafted to help my daughter stay focused and grounded—this became FOCUS.

What began as a mother's attempt to care for her children quickly evolved. That holiday season, I made a custom blend called GET HAPPY for my daughters' dance team. I labeled it quickly, calling it Julie's Good JuJu, not thinking much of it. But within days, parents started asking, "What is this Good JuJu—and how can we get more?"

And just like that, Julie's Good JuJu was born.

Healing for me and my family didn't stop there. As I rebuilt my strength, I delved deeper into holistic wellness. I trained in Trauma-Sensitive Coaching, nutrition, and completed Yoga Teacher Training. Along the way, I discovered I was battling mold toxicity. My home—the very space where I was trying to heal—was filled with toxic mold, including black mold. For two years, my family and I navigated the challenges of remediation and renovation while I continued to heal and rebuild my life from the inside out.

Now, under the umbrella of Modern Mindful Therapy, my work has expanded beyond what I ever imagined. Through spiritual coaching, energy clearing, and Good JuJu Wellness Products, I help others reconnect to themselves—just as I had to do for myself.

My journey has been, and continues to be, one of resilience, surrender, and profound transformation. Never would I have imagined having a private practice or a product line that helps change people's lives each and every day!

If you're seeking clarity, healing, or a renewed sense of purpose, I see you. I've been there. And I'm here to walk beside you as you step into your own light.

Welcome to Modern Mindful Therapy
